900 MHz PC Card Transceiver

This is a PC-Card format transceiver used primarily for Automated Meter Reading in the 900 MHz Spread Spectrum band. Using proprietary DSP techniques, it can read hundreds of meter transmitters simultaneously, and is also capable of reading three different metering formats. It also incorporates a high power “wake up” transmitter.

900 MHz Telemetry Transmitter

This is a one way transmitter designed to send real time flight telemetry data from a model aircraft or UAV to it’s operator. It employs Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology in the 902-928 MHz ISM band. Being a cost sensitive hobby product, it was optimized for inexpensive offshore manufacturing with no tuning or adjustment required.

Avalanche Rescue Beacon

This beacon is optimized to facilitate fast rescue of one or more buried victims. Employing multiple ferrite antennas, accurate vectoring to victim location is possible with minimum search time. It operates on the international standard 457 KHz search and rescue frequency.

“Falcon” Telemetry Transmitter

Apex designed this fully synthesized UHF telemetry transmitter for wildlife tracking, and it is used primarily on small predatory birds such as falcons. Ultra stable frequency can be programmed via non-contact wireless link. These tiny transmitters achieve a range of over 20 miles when used with directional tracking receiver.

High Power Bluetooth Module

Apex integrated a high power amplifier, and low noise receiver at 2.4 GHz to improve the range of this Bluetooth module. With output power at the FCC limit of 1W, module size was kept small for easy integration onto the customers PCB.

Satellite Transmitter

This is a one-way Earth to satellite transmitter designed for low cost remote data collection and transmission. It puts out 1 Watt of power at 2.4 GHz, and employs Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) modulation using Gold codes.

SS-200 Spread Spectrum Transceiver

This is a full-featured Spread Spectrum Transceiver operating at 902 – 928 MHz. This design has been licensed for use in multiple unique applications including remote credit card verification, advance flood warning and resource management data collection.

Universal Garage Door Opener

This device, mounted in the headliner of an automobile, will learn the frequency and unique code of a user’s garage door opener. It will then act as the garage door opener, eliminating the need to keep the remote transmitter in the car. This particular unit is used on European automobiles, which requires the extended frequency range of 27 MHz to 480 MHz.

RFID Reader

This is an RFID reader prototype designed to operate in the 902-928 MHz ISM band as well as the 868 MHz European band in compliance with the EPC Global standard. It employs an ultra-low phase noise homodyne transceiver as well as low loss circulator to achieve read range in excess of 7M.
